Using TOR JIG personalized surgical guides at Hospital de La Vega Baja

Primera cirugía en el Hospital de La Vega Baja con las guías quirúrgicas personalizadas TOR JIG

Last June 1st we performed an intervention in Hospital Vega Baja (Alicante) with our personalized surgical guides TOR JIG®S for the placement of pedicle screws in a spinal arthrodesis at levels T11 to L5. Surgeons Dr. García Gálvez and Dr. Ortuño successfully performed the surgery on a 58 year old man with degenerative scoliosis.

We strive to work closely with the team at Vega Baja Hospital and PRIM S.A. to ensure that our products reflect our concerns for the health and wellbeing of patients.

There were clear benefits such as:
-A great reduction in X-ray exposure of the patient and operating room equipment.
-Reduced screw placement times.
Safe and accurate pre-planning. The use of guides guarantees, in a simple way, the most suitable trajectory for screw placement, which is very complex using traditional techniques in a patient with scoliosis with rotation.
-Efficiency in the selection of spinal implants, as the diameter and length of screws required can be previously selected thanks to our software, making it unnecessary to have a large stock for each surgery.
